Today we celebrate the wonderful Phil and his mega achievement of 34 years in the industry. We lean on his expertise and experience as a team and we are so lucky to have him as half of the Father/Son dynamic duo at the head of go2mortgages 🤩

His work has taken him all over the country until his family set up camp in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire where his two sons Ryan and Liam grew up. Liam joined the family business (other than football) in 2017 and together they set up go2mortgages. From a two-man-band to a fully fledged team of six, Phil and Liam have grown the business to become the go2 place to go for mortgage, protection and insurance advice in Cheltenham and beyond.

Below, Phil briefly reminisces over the past 34 years. Congratulations Phil, here's to the next 34 🥂😉

"34 years ago today, I started in this industry with a 2 week training course before I was set loose on the world. I started at Allied Dunbar, which was the starting company for about half of the industry in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

So much has changed since then;
🔹 Regulation has increased, for the better.
🔹 Technology has vastly improved. The first computer I took to a clients house was bigger than my Nan’s sewing machine in 1970!!
🔹 Transparency has grown, no more hidden costs and fees.

More importantly though, so much has stayed the same.

🔹 People still want to buy their own homes
🔹 People still want to invest in assets, like property, for long term gains

And sadly,
🔹 People still fall ill and become unable to work
🔹 People still get diagnosed with serious illness and need financial assistance
🔹 People still die and need to protect their loved ones

Looking back, I am proud of how many people we have helped. Today has made me think about what we do here at go2mortgages and how we want to spread the word and help so many more people.

They say success is a journey not a destination, and I’m so enjoying the journey that we, the go2mortgages team, are on."
